Papa Doc Bunny
As I was making the other bunnies I just had to make one for my friend, who’s dad was a doctor, hence, Papa Doc. She had a picture of her dad in the 20’s with his plus-fours and the flat cap. I had some fabric scraps laying around from a curtain I made her a few years ago so it was a no-brainer to use those to make her Papa Doc Bunny.
Of course, with this outfit, he had to have argyle socks, but where was I going to find argyle fabric that not only matched his outfit, but was also small enough? Well I didn’t hurt my brain too much on that one. I just got some fabric pens and a quilting ruler and made my own argyle fabric.
I’ve been working on shoe patterns for my dolls. I’m getting there. These are made of felt. I love the little pocket watch charm on his vest. Perfect fit. I didn’t have the right size buttons for his shirt – in the right color – so I spray painted them. She thought he needed a gulf club; that was pretty simple (a wooden dowel and a little clay). It’s all those little touches that make him so fun.
