Birdhouses and Fairy Houses
I started painting birdhouses that I purchased. Gradually my ideas changed.
I got a little bored with the few models available for purchase. They’re not really cheap either and I do like to save money. I realized that I have so much scrap wood I could surely make my own.
This was my first attempt at multiple birdhouses. It was a gift for my neighbors who moved away. 🙂 Check out the whole post with many more pictures.
This birdhouse holds a camera so I can monitor any visitors on my deck.
That was great, but then I started thinking outside the box some more and wondered what other materials and embellishments I could use.
I was getting so excited about all the ideas I could do with birdhouses, but many things wouldn’t hold up to the weather. So I was becoming limited and I don’t like to limit my imagination.
So I just had to start making indoor birdhouses so I could do anything I wanted with them. The first ones were for Halloween. I love Halloween. Check out the Halloween Birdhouses.
Without the limitations caused by weather and the elements, I started embellishing more and more. Then I started playing with more materials to build the houses. Wood has some restrictions AND I have to use power tools out in the garage, which will be really cold in the winter. So new materials provide new opportunities.
At first, I branched out to cardboard instead of wood. This did provide some new opportunities.
