Recipes

I’ve found several new recipes for paper mache, concrete, and plaster. I’m sure there will be more. Paper Mache Paste – A slight twist on just flour and water. It’s still flour and water, but it’s cooked. That makes it so much better. I never knew. I love this recipe now. Paper Mache Clay without flour – This is fabulous to put over the paper mache to kind of smooth it out and build it up a bit. I’m still…

Paper Mache, Taking Sculpting to the Next Level

Paper Mache, Taking Sculpting to the Next Level

As soon as I made chicken wire armatures for my garden cement decorations, I realized that I could make these same frames for indoor projects, so paper mache instead of concrete. Sculpting with wool and a needle. My first needle felted animal. I like this new craft, but I do need to learn to keep my fingers away from those really sharp needles.

I love using many media in my work. These guys weren’t just sewing. I knitted mama’s hat and crocheted her basket. I used needle felting for all of their noses. There’s a little beading in there too (earrings).

California Birdhouse

California Birdhouse

This one was created for a friend to give as a gift. It has lights inside and if you peak through the little bird hole, there’s a special message inside.

Halloween Tree

Halloween Tree

Another tree, like my Happy Tree, but this one is for Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. I will be working on it probably right up to Halloween. Ive added a few pumpkins, right from garden. So much more to come…
